Taking Cybersecurity to New Heights with Blackwired: A Brand Evolution Success Story
Every brand’s journey toward excellence starts with a defining moment – in the case of Blackwired, it began with a strategic phone call to Pink Tiger Media. We are excited to share Blackwired’s success story and highlight our role in sculpting a brand evolution to position Blackwired as a leader in innovative, disruptive technologies with a robust defend-forward approach.
With some pointers from Jeremy Samide, CEO of Blackwired, we dove into intensive research, gathering insights and inspiration from across the cybersecurity landscape. Our aim was to transform his vision into tangible deliverables that resonate deeply with the market. To that end our team employed research-driven design thinking to visualise several initial concepts – including subtle plays on brand elements and colour palettes – ensuring that Blackwired’s core message was not only communicated but felt by its audience.
For starters, we revamped their logo to reflect a modern aesthetic accompanied by a progressive, front-facing tagline that encapsulates Blackwired’s innovative edge in cybersecurity. We understand that a set of clear brand guidelines ought to paint a unique, cohesive, and consistent visual image that defines a brand identity – cementing brand recognition and fostering brand loyalty. To ensure that Blackwired stands out in their field, we conducted thorough competitor analysis, dissecting key elements such as imagery and typography to determine what works best. Leveraging these insights, we transformed these ideas into a robust set of brand guidelines that aligns with Blackwired’s vision and market position.
We began by focusing on the development of the logo, thoughtfully ideating the web assets, branding, and layouts. As part of the project, our team meticulously planned and executed the asset production pipeline - carefully consolidating brand concepts into a comprehensive brand guideline. Then, we applied the brand elements to create a PowerPoint template deck for both Hands-on and Event Presentations. This structured approach ensured a cohesive and professional visual representation throughout the project.
After finalising the concept, we crafted an engaging digital brochure detailing Blackwired’s pivotal role in cybersecurity, incorporating enhanced copywriting techniques. The brochure showcases their innovative product suite including Zero Day Live, ThirdWatch, and Blockwired. By addressing the evolving needs and pain points within the industry, we positioned Blackwired as the essential provider for cutting-edge solutions. Our approach involved distilling complex product offerings into concise, digestible content, making Blackwired’s solutions accessible to potential clients and partners.
Recognising the website as often the first point of contact between Blackwired and potential clients, our designers revitalised it with a more dynamic colour palette that reflects the ever-changing nature of cybersecurity. While it’s traditional to integrate blue and grey to convey security and trust, our exploration into their various shades and combinations reveals a spectrum that is both vibrant and professional.
PTM also streamlined Blackwired’s website content to develop a new sitemap, ensuring a logical and seamless flow of information. We focused on refining the website copy and designing a more visually engaging landing page to capture the audience’s attention and encourage them to explore Blackwired’s products. As a result, the redesigned website is not only more user-friendly but also features interactive elements and streamlined visuals, ensuring that every visitor’s first impression is both impactful and lasting.
As the new website was still under development when Blackwired attended International Cyber Risk Symposium 2024 hosted by the OSP Cyber Academy in Scotland – we launched a targeted media outreach strategy to maximise the company’s exposure and amplify the impact of Jeremy and other executives’ presence and speaking engagement there, where they announced the launch of their ThirdWatch solution. Harnessing the immense popularity of podcasts, we secured a feature for Jeremy on ExtraMile by HiTechNectar, where he discussed the critical topic of advanced cybersecurity. This opportunity not only amplified his expertise but also helped to positioned him as a thought leader in the field.
We drafted and distributed a press release to a specially curated list of business, cybersecurity, and technology journalists and publications. Our focus was on tier-1 and tier-2 technology and cybersecurity outlets. Being selective in pitching to the right journalistic beats significantly increased the likelihood of pickup. Consistent follow-up ensured that journalists were well-informed of any developments and facilitated the handling of inquiries before the release.
In addition to an English distribution, we also localised the press release into Japanese – one of Blackwired’s key markets. The results of our 360-degree media outreach strategy were outstanding, garnering extensive media pickup, including a video interview and a thought leadership piece, among other coverage.
This comprehensive approach not only enhanced Blackwired’s visibility at a critical juncture but also solidified its position as a forward-thinking leader in the cybersecurity space.
As part of a comprehensive digital strategy, we crafted compelling LinkedIn posts to announce Blackwired’s rebranded website and its advanced cybersecurity solutions. These targeted posts emphasized Blackwired’s commitment to a defend-forward strategy, crucial for digital protection in today’s threat landscape, and ensured that both potential clients and industry peers were aware of Blackwired’s advancements.
Keeping the digital community informed is always key in maintaining engagement and reinforcing one’s position as an industry leader.
Pink Tiger Media, as Blackwired’s partner, also created dynamic graphics and developed tailored brand assets including key visuals and copywriting to spotlight the rebranding.
